Abstract

SEPRIANTI REKA BULI. 2024. Students Motivation In Joining MBKM Kampus Mengajar Program of English Education Study Program. (Supervised by Normalia Sirande, S.S, M.P.d and Linerda Tulaktondok, M.Pd)
The purpose of this study is to find out what are the students motivation in joining MBKM Kampus Mengajar program of English Education Study Program UKI Toraja.In this study, researchers used qualitative methods. Purposive sampling
strategy was used to obtain data from (4) English language education students.
The findings show that there are two main things that motivate students to join the MBKM Teaching Campus program, namely intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. In this case intrinsic motivation consists of feelings of pleasure, interest, attention, engagement, the existence of interesting learning activities, a conducive learning environment, and understanding. Then extrinsic motivation consists of support from family and social environments, competition, and praise or recognition. The program gives students the opportunity to train themselves in the world of work, develop teaching skills, professionalism, classroom management, and direct involvement in the learning process. In addition, their motivation for joining this program is to gain experience, insight, character, and build relationships
with others. This program is also considered as a means to prepare graduates who are resilient in facing changes in the world of work and socio-cultural and technological developments, as well as an opportunity to develop soft skills and hard skills.
The conclusion is that researchers found that there are two things that motivate students to join the MBKM Teaching Campus program, namely intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation.
