Abstract
KESYA.2019.THE USE OF CLASS POINT IN IMPROVING VOCABULARY
MASTERY OF THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMAN 5 TANA TORAJA.
(Supervised by Dr.Drs.Nehru P.Pongsapan,M.Pd, and Dr.Markus Deli Girik Allo,M.Pd).
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using Class point in improving vocabulary mastery of tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Tana Toraja.
The population of this research is the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 5 Tana Toraja which consists of 288 students divided into 8 classes.This research uses cluster sampling where the research takes 36 students as respondents.The instrument used by researchers in collecting data is multiple choice as a written test. The results showed that the t-count value was greater than the t-table value of 7.485 and 2.03011 so that the application of class point significantly improved students„ vocabulary acquisition compared to the traditional method, as well as increased students‟ motivation and involvement in the learning process. The findings suggest that the class point strategy can be an effective tool to
improve students' vocabulary acquisition in grade ten, making a positive contribution to language teaching methodology in schools.
