Abstract
MARLIN BANDANGAN.2024. “USING KAHOOT TO ENHANCE THE STUDENTS’ INTEREST IN LEARNING ENGLISH AT THE TENTH GRADE
OF SMA KRISTEN MAKALE”
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Kahoot in increasing the interest in learning English of tenth grade students at SMA Kristen Makale. In conducting this research, the author used experimental quantitative research. The author obtained data by using closed questionnaires in the form of pre-test and post-test. The study population was tenth grade students at SMA Kristen Makale. The sample was taken using total sampling with a total sample is 26 students.
The result of this study concluded that using Kahoot to boost students' interest in learning English, especially when teaching Kahoot to tenth grade at SMA Kristen Makale. Based on the pre- and post-test results, the average pre-test score was 94.73 and the median post test score is 98.04. Then, based on the findings and discussions in the previous chapter, the results show that a to (tcount =817) is greater that (ttable = 2,060), to > tt, so the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypotheses (Ha) accepted. It concluded that the use of Kahoot was effective in increasing the interest of tenth grade students at the SMA Kristen Makale in learning English.
