Abstract
The need for electrical energy to support the application of technology in zero farming encourages the utilization of renewable energy through an off-grid Solar Power Generation System (PLTS). This study aims to analyze and evaluate the specifications and performance of solar panels in an off-grid PLTS system for zero farming agriculture in Batupapan, Makale District, Tana Toraja Regency. The research employed an experimental method with a quantitative approach through direct measurements of solar radiation intensity, panel temperature, voltage, current, output power, and solar panel efficiency. Data collection was conducted for six days at one-hour measurement intervals from 08:00 to 16:00. The results showed that solar radiation intensity ranged from 639.66 to 1,381.38 W/m2, panel temperature ranged from 38.22 to 53.77°C, voltage ranged from 14.70 to 16.80 V, current ranged from 1.93 to 3.38 A, and output power ranged from 28.83 to 57.14 W. The analysis indicated that an increase in solar radiation intensity tended to increase the output current and power, while an increase in panel temperature affected the output voltage and efficiency. The 100 Wp polycrystalline solar panel produced a maximum output power of 57.14 W with a maximum efficiency of 7.66%. Based on these results, the 100 Wp solar panel is considered suitable for use as an energy source in an off-grid PLTS system for zero farming agriculture under the conditions of this study.
